Marcato HvH entered competition in 23.1 shown under Odette Haas. Within his first season of competition, Marcato earned his Champion and Grand Champion titles as well as his CCDF Bronze Medal, which raised to a Silver Medal in 23.2. 23.1 Review: Mendelssohn primarily performed at Intermediate II. Mendelssohn placed top-3 in the Twilight Dressage Hultai and Westmount Freestyles, then again at CCDF Olomouc. Putting out a strong showing at CCDF São Paulo, Gössendorf, and Aalborg, GGF May Flowers, Twilight Dressage Runnaby, Summer Geometry Series and the North American Dressage Tour in Calgary, Mendelssohn earned numerous Reserve Champions. Mendelssohn was Champion at the Ursa Manor June Dressage show and CCDF Mannheim, Ornago Samourin and Tolbert after placing top-5 in nearly all of his tests. Mendelssohn won two of his tests at CCDF Addington. At Intermediate I, Mendelssohn was Champion at CCDF Lier after placing top-5 in all of his testsAt Prix St. Georges, Mendelssohn was Reserve Champion at CCDF Cascais. At Fourth Level, Mendelssohn was Champion at the Garden Gate Expo. In the lower levels, Mendelssohn was Reserve Champion during The Priory Dressage series. Mendelssohn placed top-3 in Senior Warmblood Stallions in Conformation at both the WBG Sporthorse Festivals in Wellington and Nice. Mendelssohn was the series Reserve Champion at Intermediate II during the North American Dressage Tour.

22.2 Review: In the lower levels, Mendelssohn was Reserve Champion during the Limburg Regional Dressage series, and Champion at the Coniston Dressage Show.

Marcato's dam Niagara (Foundation x Foundation) holds a WBG Bronze Medallion and a CCDF Platinum Medal. 

23.1 Review: Having successfully competed through the Dressage ranks to Grand Prix, Niagara spent much of the 23.1 season performing at Intermediate I ridden by Odette Haas after foaling her first colt, Marcato HvH by Mendelssohn. During the North American Dressage Tour in Temecula, Niagara came out top-3 in two of her tests and was consistently competitive during the GGF June Jigs and May Flowers shows, and Ursa Manor series. Niagara placed top-5 in the CCDF Olomouc Freestyle after taking home the win in the Twilight Dressage Maple Ridge Freestyle and earning Reserve Champion (also at Bajlum). Niagara took home numerous top placings during the Spring Dressage Festival series across all tests, earning Reserve Champion at the Spring Dressage Festival II after placing top-3 in all tests. The CCDF Tolbert, Samourin and Mumbai events were highlights in her show season as Niagara placed top-3 in 5 of her 6 tests between Tolbert and Samourin, then earned Champion in Mumbai after winning two tests. Niagara was again Champion at the Stal Gezellig May Dressage Show. During her short Grand Prix run during 23.1, Niagara earned several top placings during the Mist Haven March Dressage Festival series and at Intermediate II at the Cloud Palace Concerto show and CCDF Cascais. At the WBG Sporthorse Festival in Sydney, Niagara placed top-5 in her split of  Junior Warmblood Mares in At Liberty and in Herning she came out on top of her split of Junior Warmblood Mares in Conformation.

22.1 & 22.2 Review: Niagara’s 22.2 season was spent primarily performing at Intermediate I. At the CCDF North American Championships Niagara was Champion after placing top-5 in all three tests. Again Champion at the Groningen, Gelderland and Utrecht Regional Dressage shows, Niagara won four of her tests. At CCDF Dressage in the Bluegrass, Niagara placed top-5 in all of her tests earning Reserve Champion. During her Prix St. Georges campaign, Niagara she placed top-5 in all three tests at the Dance Macabre show. At Fourth Level, Niagara was Champion during the Monster Mash Dressage series and won a Freestyle. At Third Level, Niagara placed top-3 in the CCDF Silverwood Dressage Freestyle and was Champion at the CCDF Ottawa Dressage Festival. In the lower levels, Niagara placed top-5 in the Freestyles at July Dressage at Lumilaakso, Thistledown Sept Schooling Night, Cellenkatu Dressage Schooling Show, CCDF Del Mar National Dressage, Freestyles by the Falls, Gila River Dressage Show, CCDF Gold Coast Opener, CCDF Palm Beach Dressage Derby and the CCDF Wellington Classic Dressage Challenge and won the First Level Freestyle at CCDF Caldon Dressage in the Park.

Breeding Stipulations

Prior to submitting a breeding inquiry for this stallion, please ensure that both yourself and your plan/chosen mare meet the following requirements:

  1. Foal owner must be an active member of the Counter Canter community and commit to begin showing the foal before or by age 4.

  2. Foal owner must claim for themself or otherwise list Odette (#81) for first-right buybacks on foal's profile.

  3. Foal must be registered as either the sire or mare's breed if mare is Warmblood, the sire's breed if mare is Thorughbred, or the the appropriate cross if mare is a pony.

  4. Foal's color must follow the most accurate genotype, and height may not exceed the mare's by more than a half-hand (0.2hh).

  5. Mare must be of any Warmblood breed, retrained Thoroughbred or sport-type pony suitable for show jumping, hunters, eventing or dressage.

  6. Mare must be currently trained/competing in dressage. Show jumping, hunters or eventing mares considered on case-by-case basis.

  7. Mares with at least a National Champion title are preferred.

  8. Foal must bear the Hof von Haas brand (HvH) if foal owner does not have their own at time of breeding.
